School and office work can be stressful. To cope with stress, we tend to eat a lot, oftentimes resorting to eating food that are good to the taste but may not necessarily be healthy, like high-cholesterol foods. As we all know, intake of high-cholesterol foods must be kept to a minimum and to avoid the risks of developing cardiovascular diseases.

How can you manage your cholesterol levels? Here are some tips:

1. Lessen your fat intake. Foods high in fat include meat, dairy products, chocolate, baked goods, fried and processed foods. Instead of consuming more of these, go for foods with healthier fats, such as lean meat, nuts, and unsaturated oils like canola and olive oil.

Limiting fat intake helps you reduce the number of calories you get in your body. It is important to observe how much calories you gain as too much can also put you at risk for heart diseases. A gram of fat has about twice the number of calories as starches and proteins, thus it is advisable to take in smaller part sizes of fat in your diet.

2. Be active. Having an active lifestyle can help lower your cholesterol levels. Doing 150 minutes of physical activities weekly like walking, riding a bicycle, running and dancing raises your heart rate and helps you release lots of sweat, which flushes cholesterol out of the body. Doing a combination of aerobics and resistance training is recommended for cardiorespiratory fitness to further aid weight and fat loss.

3. Take the necessary medications and supplements. Should you already have high cholesterol, follow your doctor’s advice on how to manage your condition. You may also ask your doctor about nutritional supplements you can take to complement your maintenance medicines.

IntegrAid includes Sytrinol in its line of nutraceuticals to help manage your cholesterol levels. IntegrAid Sytrinol is a natural supplement composed of a patented blend of citrus and palm fruit extracts in a 150mg softgel capsule. To fully benefit from Sytrinol, it is suggested to take IntegrAid Sytrinol twice daily, unless otherwise recommended by your doctor.

For proper guidance and more information on how to manage cholesterol levels, consult your doctor especially when planning to take any medications or supplements.
